The Afghan Orphans Future Organization (AOFO) was born in 2025 in Herat, Afghanistan, out of compassion and responsibility. After decades of conflict and hardship, countless children were left without parents, and families struggled to survive.
Founding Vision
A group of Afghan individuals decided to act. They founded AOFO with one mission: to provide orphaned children and vulnerable families with education, healthcare, and hope. AOFO is Afghan‑led and community‑based, which means our work grows from within the communities we serve.
Core Programs
From its early days, AOFO has focused on:
- Education support — school supplies, scholarships, literacy programs.
- Healthcare access — medical treatment, nutrition, hygiene awareness.
- Psychosocial programs — counseling, mentorship, cultural activities.
- Economic empowerment — workshops, vocational training, interest‑free loans.
Guiding Principles
Through Ramadan and Winter Appeals, we’ve reached hundreds of families. Through monthly support, we sustain dozens more. Through partnerships, we expand our reach. But at the core, AOFO remains true to its founding vision: to empower orphans and vulnerable families to become independent, confident, and active contributors to society.
Growing Impact
Supporting widows is at the heart of AOFO’s mission because when women are empowered, children thrive. A mother’s strength becomes a child’s future. By helping widows, we break cycles of poverty and create pathways to independence.
